25°… light snow falling… joyous.
This month’s walk to work started off colder than the last few (12-22-17). I was the first one on the trail… one inch of fresh snow (and more coming down), all alone for the entire journey until I got closer to downtown Grand Rapids. It was peaceful.
The return trip was a bit more of a slushy/icy/snowy mix on the trail. It was much harder to walk on it, but provided a good opportunity for strengthening my ankles and teaching my body to deal with an uneven surface.
Each time I’m out, I’m testing different gear and food… dialing it in a little better. Learning more and more what works and doesn’t.
What will January bring? I might need snow shoes, if this keeps up.
Stay warm, my friends.
